What is Misericordia?

Misericordia's history spans over a century of service. Founded in 1921 as a maternity hospital for underprivileged women, it shifted focus in 1954 to support children with disabilities. Today, Misericordia aids over 600 individuals from diverse backgrounds with intellectual, developmental, and physical challenges. They are committed to delivering personalized, high-quality care that adapts to each person's evolving needs, fostering independence, self-determination, social connections, and community involvement.

Rooted in Catholic values, Misericordia's mission is inclusive, extending to all families and offering them reassurance and peace of mind. They welcome all who believe in their mission, fostering a community that embraces people of all faiths and those without religious affiliations. They continue to cultivate a community where acceptance, respect, dignity, spirituality, and quality of life are paramount for everyone involved.
