Similarities

First, both the Seltos and Sportage are SUVs that offer seating for up to five and plenty of room for passengers and cargo. They are equipped with Kia Drive Wise, a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance systems that include a forward collision-avoidance assist featuring car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection and a lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and lane following assist.

The Seltos and Sportage can be equipped with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, including drive modes like Normal and Sport.

Both come standard with a six-way manual driver's seat and provide an upgraded 10-way power driver's seat with two-way power lumbar adjustment on the upper trims. In addition, both provide 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seats and a dual-level cargo floor for added versatility.

Differences

The Sportage is larger than the Seltos, providing the most cargo room with up to 74.1 cubic feet of space. The Seltos offers up to 62.8 cubic feet of total cargo volume. Powertrains are different, with the Seltos equipped with a 2-liter inline four-cylinder engine and the Sportage featuring a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Seltos provides 146 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, while the Sportage boasts 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.

The Sportage pairs its engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the Seltos comes standard with an intelligent variable transmission. It’s important to note that the top two Seltos trim levels also feature an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Starting with the Sportage EX trim, each upgrades the standard infotainment system to a large 12.3-inch touchscreen display with integrated navigation. In comparison, beginning with the Seltos S trim, a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with navigation and Kia Connect is at your disposal.

The Sportage EX and onward comes equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control with an auto de-fog system, while the Seltos S and up are fitted with single-zone auto climate control.
